OverDrive/Libby Help

Kindle Update June 2024:
Amazon removed the ability for users to return their checkouts early through Libby and OverDrive. Titles that are due will automatically be returned to the library and you won’t be charged overdue fines. This shouldn’t affect Kindle Fire users if you are reading within the Libby app, but you will be affected if you read on a Paperwhite or otherwise choose to send a title to your Kindle. Returned books may still show up in your Kindle library too, but when you select the book you may be told to buy it. You have to go to Amazon’s website to remove the title permanently from your Kindle library.
Here are the help pages OverDrive made:
- Libby Help: Returning Kindle Books
- OverDrive Help: How to return a Kindle Book borrowed from your library
- Are Kindle Books automatically removed from my Kindle or Kindle reading app?
