The Brooks Free Library offered a monthly program for individuals who are blind or who have low vision. Beginning on March 19 2024, the program took place from 10:00 am – 11:30 am on the third Tuesday of each month.
Each program began with an opportunity to chat with other attendees while enjoying light refreshments. Then we discussed different techniques and technologies that you can use to perform daily tasks independently. Each month we focused on a different task. Together we explored various methods, strategies, devices, and available resources.
We learned from each other as we shared ideas and experiences. This is a program for and by people who are blind or who have low vision, so attendees were encouraged to suggest topics of interest.
Volunteers were available to provide assistance if attendees are not accompanied by a family member or friend. We also offered, upon request, a link to attend the program remotely via Google Meet.
The program took place from 10:00 am – 11:30 am on each of the following dates
March 19: Introduction, Accessible games
April 16
May 21: Audible Local Ledger Reading Service
June 18: Assistive Technology
