Brooks Free Library has Chromebooks and WIFI Hotspots which you can borrow for free, on-the-go internet access. Our hotspots are provided by T-Mobile wireless and offer unlimited data for use on your personal devices.
Chromebooks and Hotspots check out for one week on a first-come-first-serve basis and cannot be renewed. These devices cannot be returned and immediately checked out as there is a waiting period for staff to check the device. Hotspots cannot be double-borrowed between family members. In order to borrow a hotspot, you must:
- Have an Adult CLAMS card
- Be a Harwich resident (have a Harwich address on your card)
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have less than $25 in fines on your card, and no billed items
- Agree to the Lending Agreement
You may ask for a copy of the lending agreement if desired
If items are not returned on their due date, we reserve the right to block service access.
This is not meant to be a permanent solution for internet access. If you require more internet access or computer use, the library offers free WIFI 24/7 that can be accessed inside and outside during open hours and in our parking lot when we are closed. Any WIFI that starts with Brooks without a password is available. We also have public computers and in-house Chromebooks if needed.
To find out more about borrowing a hotspot, please see a librarian at the Circulation Desk.
